Cardholder Fraud Education

Protect Yourself

It is that time a year where we want to remind all of our members about the safety measures needed to protect your card access and accounts.  Fraudsters have become very good at getting cardholders to share the information they need to commit fraud by posing as a financial institution call center or sending text messages that look like they are coming from your institution.  Your Credit Union call center does not send out text alerts at this time.  They will call by phone to ensure transactions have been authorized by our members.  A phone call from the automated dialer will only include a request for a cardholder’s zip code, and no other personal information, unless they confirm that a transaction is fraudulent.  Only then will you be transferred to an agent who will ask questions to confirm your identity before going through your transactions.

A great measure you can take in protecting your card is to download the Credit Union CardValet app.  This allows you the opportunity to turn your card on and off at any time.  It can provide you alerts when transactions are approved and/or denied.  Download the app today!
